Janice Linehan, Manager of Sustainability Strategy; Suncor Energy Inc.

 

Janice Linehan is a Manager of Sustainability Strategy in the Corporate Sustainability group at Suncor Energy - an integrated energy company strategically focused on developing the Athabasca oil sands, one of the world's largest petroleum resource basins. In this role Janice is helping to steward the company toward meeting it';s publically stated environmental goals as well as coordinating teams of internal experts to develop post 2015 sustainability goals. Janice is also involved in working with regulators, other industry members as well as multi-stakeholder groups on various emerging environmental policy and a wide range of regional, provincial and national initiatives related to water, land and air.

 

Janice joined Suncor in 2008 and has worked in Alberta';s oil and gas industry in various environmental roles for the past 10 years. Prior to working in oil and gas Janice has worked as a fisheries biologist for both the Provincial and Federal government as well as with a national non-profit organization.

 

Janice has her B.S in Marine Biology and a Masters in Environmental Science from Memorial University of Newfoundland with a focus on fish and fish habitat.
